Alien look: Shoe Challenge No.66

So here they are, as promised: My new beloved Miu Miu shoes! I finally wore them out, just for grocery shopping – who says you can’t dress up for that?

Shoe ChallengeShoes: Miu Miu
Worn with: Dress by Chille AnaP, top by ?, bag by Max Mara.

I can’t even describe how much I love these! They look so weird, just like some alien’s feet in a movie.I think the colour combination reinforces that too. Since they’re such a statement pair, I paired them with a simple outfit: Just a black dress with silk top underneath and a matching bag (somehow I’ve got lots of things in that particular shade of green – I really love that colour), nothing to distract from the shoes:

And, surprisingly, they are also very comfortable and easy to walk in, despite the super high heel 🙂 I’d love to wear these every day, but there’s still a whole lot of other shoes waiting to be saved…I guess I’ll be able to wear these with tights too, so at least they’re not another summer-only pair of shoes!

Gourmet Day: Shoe Challenge No.62

Shortly after my fiancé arrived, we went for a lunch with friends at the wonderful restaurant of star cook Heinz Winkler – Even though I love good food it’s been the first time for me to go to such a restaurant, and a great experience! The weather was great, so we could sit outside and enjoy the beautiful view of the mountains. Here are the pictures of the menu I chose:

My favourite was, of course, the dessert – but that’s just because I’m a dessert addict! I chose the Crêpes with Grand Marnier for dessert, and didn’t regret it, though the other dessert was really nice too (I stole a bite from my fiancé – but he’s not that into sweets anyway 😉 ) But the best part was that two extra “desserts” were included – the assortment in the picture above the crêpes for two to share and a praline of your choice….I had a hard time choosing!

So, finally on to the Shoe Challenge:

The shoes are actually my mom’s but I wear them a lot too – lucky we have the same size! I was my mom’s “shopping assistant” for these, and with my help she finally found a pair of wedges she liked. These shoes I love for their special heel, and the beautiful bow in the front:

Esperanza SandalsShoes: Esperanza
Worn with: Dress by ?, camisole by Zara, bag by Samantha Thavasa.

That day I just went shopping for souvenirs with my fiancé – he bought so much Haribo he ended up carrying a backback filled almost entirely with that! We had super hot weather, so I decided on something light to wear – a dress I bought on a nightmarket in Bangkok quite a few years ago. And, to save another pair of shoes as well I chose these Sandals from my Esperanza “collection” (I have to count how many shoes of that brand I have…) to complete this all pink outfit…living up to one of my nicknames, ‘Barbie’ 🙂 This Sandal I bought just for the gorgeous heel:

As you can see, they have a clip-on crystal encrusted rose, which is missing in the outfit picture as we were in a hurry to catch the train and I couldn’t find them….. I love how they paid attention even to the design of the insole, with a glittery heart at the back part and another heart shaped by the cut and stitching at the front!

Can a shoe get any more kitsch than this?

I’m back to the shoe challenge after a kind of long absence! As I’ve mentioned before, I’m currently writing my Magisterarbeit (graduation paper) for university and we’re also renovating a lot in our home, so I was really really busy and tired. This week, my fiancé also came from Japan – luckily he’ll stay for quite a while because we haven’t seen each other for some time 🙂 But I’ll try to do the challenges more regularly again – after all, I’m planning on saving all my beloved shoes! I’ve got some more to save now, too, since my fiancé brought some of the pairs I had left behind (full suitcase…) with him. Anyway, here’s one of last week’s outfits – at least I did take pictures even when I didn’t post them right away! These shoes are by the Italian brand Casadei, and I got them on sale from Yoox. I had originally wanted a different style from that collection, but sadly that didn’t ever get reduced to an affordable price, so this is the pair I decided on in the end. I really love these shoes – I don’t think they’re pretty, I just like their strangeness. To me, the heels look like some kind of devil’s horns 🙂 They are really high as well, but are still fine to walk in….

Another one down! Saving my collection seems more and more doable! Today’s outfit is inspired by a girl’s outfit which I saw on TV recently: She had paired a khaki coloured T-Shirt with a yellow-green scarf and I totally loved the combination, so here is my version. Today’s shoes are the first pair I ever bought on Yoox. I had seen another version of these on several blogs, and HAD to have them. So the search began…original price they were too expensive, Ebay I had no luck that time and finally I found them on Yoox and waited….until sale time when I got lucky and my size was still available. Here they are:

Do you remember these shoes? I got a pair for myself, and they are still available here (though not in beige/large 😉 ) and today I wore them for the first time! These surely aren’t shoes for heel “beginners” as they are super high and take a while to get used to. The platform is a little round at the front so you need some balance. If you’re a heel veteran though, they shouldn’t be a problem! Anyway these are good for training leg muscles…this is how they look like on the foot:

この靴を覚えていますか?実は一足を買いました!まだそのスタイルはこちらで買えます (ただベージュのLサイズは売りきれています 😉 )。今日は初めてはきました!この靴はヒールが高くて、少しなれるまで時間がかかりますので初めてヒールをはく人にはおすすめできないんですがよくヒールをはく人なら問題がないと思います!足の筋肉をきたえるにもいいです…はいたときのみためです:

Flag-J Sandal with architectural heel

Flag-J is another great Japanese shoe brand. My favourite style from this season’s collection is this unusual Sandal:

Flag-J SandalBesides beige, it’s available with a dark blue upper, a leopard upper or totally in black, but this is my favourite combination. I think the beige suede looks great with the light wood and the simple colours let the shape of the shoe be the main focus instead of distracting the eye. They are available at the Flag-J online shop for 8.010 Yen (approx. 69€).

I’ve been looking forward to wearing these shoes for months now, and finally it was warm enough! I combined them with this dress by H&M for a friend’s birthday party – a much more colourful look than I usually wear. Even though they’re pretty high, they’re comfortable and it was easy to dance in them for a long time…

I adore these wedges! Here’s a close-up:

I also made another rollcake (and more desserts, but they’re not as photogenic) this time with a flower pattern…..I’m totally hooked on these rollcakes, but I do want to try something else again too. I wish I had more time for baking, but right now my graduation has to be my no.1 prority!

Hot shoes from Brazil

Today I “discovered” a new shoe brand, which I just have to share with you. While I was browsing shoe sites during my lunch break today, I saw these super stunning pair by the Brazilian brand Dilly – a great discovery! I need to start saving up now 🙂

Dilly Peeptoe Slingback

Aren’t these amazing?! I’m totally in love with the heels…and the little ribbon on the back…and the shape…If you find them equally stunning, you can get a pair for 229€ (click here for the red version, here for the black version and here for the lemon version).

Of course, after seeing these beauties, I wanted to see the rest of Dilly’s collection and headed over to their homepage, but unfortunately it’s under construction right now. Nevertheless, you can take a look at their previous collections on the old homepage in the meantime.
